Warwick Victorian Evening Print E-mail

The Warwick Victorian Christmas Evening takes place on Thursday 26th November 2009 between 4pm and 9pm in the town centre.

Image BBC Coventry and Warwickshire will host a packed programme of entertainment on the stage including can-can dancers, choirs, Victorian singers and the town’s Christmas lights switch-on at 7.15pm.

There will be attractions throughout the town centre including a traditional carousel, a horse and carriage, Santa’s grotto at the Museum, craft demonstrations, birds of prey, traction engines, classic cars and children’s rides. A procession from St Mary’s Church will provide a colourful highlight just before the lights switch-on.

Craft, charity and festive food stalls will run through Swan Street, Market Street and Market Place. Stallholders, businesses and visitors are encouraged to wear period costume and enter the Best Dressed Victorian competition on stage at 7.45pm.

The heart of the town centre will be closed to traffic from 1pm to 10.30pm to create a safe, family-friendly environment. Access to the new bus station and the town's car parks (except New Street) will be unaffected.

Please contact the Tourist Information Centre on 01926 492212 for further information.
